Guest lecture on Artificial Intelligence for Viksit Bharath – A Perspective of the New Education Policy
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised a guest lecture on “Artificial Intelligence for Viksit Bharat – A Perspective of the New Education Policy” on 26th March 2026. The session was delivered by Dr. V. J. K. Kishor Sonti, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Jeppiaar University, Chennai. He emphasised the growing significance of AI in shaping India’s vision of a technologically advanced and self-reliant Viksit Bharat.
The talk highlighted how the New Education Policy encourages the integration of emerging technologies such as AI across all levels of education. Dr. Kishor explained how AI fosters critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills among students. He also discussed the role of AI in leading industries and its impact on future career opportunities.
Students gained insights into using AI tools to enhance personal capabilities and improve employability. The speaker elaborated on the importance of AI awareness in placement preparation and interview readiness. He encouraged students to proactively build technical and analytical skills aligned with evolving industry demands.
The session helped students understand the relevance of AI in education, industry, and national development. Around 180 sixth-semester students attended and actively engaged with the speaker. Overall, the lecture was informative, inspiring, and aligned with the institution’s goal of preparing students for a technology-driven future.
