Expert Lecture: DSP-Industrial Usage
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering hosted an expert lecture titled “DSP-Industrial Usage” on June 20, 2024. Mr. Sagar Somashekar, a Senior Architect at Nokia Networks in Bangalore, discussed the essential role of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) in various industries. He emphasized how DSP efficiently processes and manipulates digital signals, making it crucial for audio and multimedia coding, noise reduction, and video compression. DSP is vital in telecommunications for speech, channel, and software-defined radio implementations. In biomedical engineering, DSP also plays a key role in processing biomedical signals, medical imaging, and hearing aids.
