Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted an International online alumni talk on “THINKING BEYOND ACADEMICS” on 13th February 2021.The speaker, Mohamed Ahmed Shariff, is an alumnus of ECE department(Batch-2012-2016).He is currently working as a sub editor and reporter at The Printers Mysore Pvt Ltd, the parent organization of the 72 years old newspaper Deccan Herald. Ahmed also writes books and film reviews. His bylines also encompass various lifestyle-related subjects. Before his stint at the print media industry, he has worked as a software engineer with Happiest Mind Technologies.The audience was VII sem students. The talk comprised of focus on planning with the aim to encourage students to take up hobbies and vocations to supplement their growth academically, socially, personally and financially. It also encouraged them to take up journaling and expressing their view via writing, which in term would help them better articulate when presenting papers, projects and dissertations. Students interacted with the speaker at the end of the session by taking suggestions and clarifying doubts on thinking beyond academics. The session was overall very informative.
