YOGA FOR ENERGY AND STRESS MANAGEMENT
Introduction
In the present social system, more importance is given for earning livelihood and less importance is therefor a quality lifestyle.Thus, among the student community, there is lack of awareness about general health, and there is more pressure for competing with the general mass, and proving one’s excellence. But in this process, as anxiety and stress increase, students in general suffer from lack of energy and lack of focus. The system of Yoga is proven to be a time-tested method for maintaining good physical as well as psychological health. Hence, it is planned to create awareness among the student community about the importance of the yogic practices, and to teach some methods, so as to develop self-discipline.
Methodology:
- Once in a year, the students are assembled semester-wise, in the seminar hall.
- A 2-hours program is conducted, along with basic theoretical and practical sessions.
- Two pranayama methods are taught, to develop more energy in the body.
- Two meditation methods are taught, to develop focus and to visualize goals.
- Two rasayanas and two brain-tonics are discussed, to enhance health and memory.
- Two mudras are taught, so as to obtain better psycho-physical coordination.
Expected outcome:
- Increased energy levels, to face the required challenges in the technical education.
- Better focus and increased self-esteem, along with better understanding of the self.
- Students as better individuals, so as to have a better society.
