EXPERT LECTURE 2024-2025

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized an expert lecture on “The Cybersecurity Industry Challenge” on May 28^th 2025, delivered by
Dr. Vishal Saraswat, Head of Research and Innovation at Bosch. The lecture was attended by 89 sixth-semester students. The session explored cybersecurity through the lenses of academia, industry, and real-world practice.

Dr. Saraswat highlighted how academia focuses on theoretical models, industry prioritizes performance and cost, and real-life scenarios introduce human unpredictability. He explained the layers of security—Cryptography, IT Security, and Life Security—using relatable analogies such as a child recognizing a parent for authentication. The lecture also covered functional, non-functional, and multi-faceted aspects of security, encouraging students to think critically about cybersecurity challenges, and career opportunities. The session was engaging, insightful, and helped students visualize complex concepts with clarity.
